Daily Prompt: High Noon

At noon today, take a pause in what you’re doing or thinking about. Make a note of it, and write a post about it later.

It’s Christmas Day and at noon today, my husband and I were preparing a Christmas lunch feast for his side of the family. I was concerned that the turkey wouldn’t be done in time for our guests when they arrive at one. We woke up 2 hours later than we had planned because we forgot to set the alarm clock the night before. We had a decent sized meal when all the guests arrived so we feasted on the ham while the turkey continued to cook in the oven. Other than the turkey, we got everything out in time minus the green bean casserole. There wasn’t any room in the oven with the ham and turkey occupying whatever space there was. We feasted and were merry and by the time the turkey was ready to serve, everyone was too stuffed to eat anymore! We’re not quite sure what to do with the turkey… I guess we’ll be eating a whole lot of turkey this week!
